Adventurous Sunrise Elopement in Breckenridge, Colorado

This sweet couple traveled from Texas to Breckenridge to elope spontaneously on an early September morning, and we adventured from the moment we saw stars until it was time for lunch celebrating their marriage.

Our morning started really early (like 5am early) while the stars hung high above our head, and nearby hikers helped tie Justin’s tie. We hiked up to our ceremony spot with our headlamps and all their attire on their back. I heard the waterfall roaring next to the ceremony site and I asked her if she wanted to put on her wedding gown next to a waterfall - because c’mon, how epic! The benefit of a sunrise elopement is that locations are often empty, meaning she could put on her gown hearing the birds chirping, the wind on her skin, and the sound of glacier water melting by her side.

Right before the sun emerged over the mountains, Jennifer and Justin shared their first look and vows for their ceremony together with the most stunning view. It was like magic — for their first kiss, the sun began to fill the space with glorious light, warming our skins and filling our hearts with the utmost joy! We soaked in the light and Justin began photographing Jennifer saying, “wow, you look amazing".” It was so precious!

Jennifer was a total trooper and volunteer to get into the waterfall and later into the lake for the most MAGICAL photos I might have ever taken — unbelievable. We did anything they wanted to do, stopped and went whenever they felt like it, and did everything exactly like they wanted to. That’s the benefit of an elopement - you get to celebrate your first day of marriage in a way that feels exactly like who you are.

Cheers to Justin and Jennifer — thank you for the opportunity to photograph your epic marriage :)
