A Woodsy Fall Wedding at the Blackstone Rivers Ranch, CO
Kristina and Christophe traveled from The Netherlands to have their dreamy mountain destination wedding in Idaho Springs, Colorado. When Kristina reached out to me, she shared her vision of a cozy mountain wedding with warm Terracotta colors and plenty of opportunity to chat with her closest loved ones. Truthfully, we began working together late 2020 when we didn’t know when or if our national regulations would adjust with the pandemic, and they also had to consider their own national regulations in the Netherlands. When they decided to commit to their US wedding a few months prior, we went full steam ahead. Unfortunately, Christophe’s family was no longer able to travel to the US, and we decided to Facetime them periodically throughout their wedding day. Tears-of-joy-alert: Kristina’s bridesmaid surprised him with a dance during the traditional “mother-son dance” to Sky Full of Stars — in remembrance of the time he met Chris Martin from Coldplay.
The Blackstone Rivers Ranch is an elegant mountain venue that is only 15 minutes from Mt. Evans. It has aspens, a forest, a river, bridges, a stunning lodge, a gathering fire-pit, and outdoor space to make it whatever you want it to be. I was amazed at how dense the forest surrounding the venue felt, and it felt like we were completely isolated from the world - except we are 20 minutes from a thriving city. You know me, I am sucker for string lights and twilight photos, and it felt like the owners of the venue designed this space for incredible photos. Pair some warm & rust monochrome florals with the warm lights and dark evergreens, and we’ve got such a cozy wedding!
Cheers to Kristina & Christophe ++
