Garden of the Gods Family Session at Sunset

Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs, CO is the best city park ever! This incredible (and free) park is in the middle of the city, and it has 300’ towering sandstone rock formations with epic views of Pikes Peak. There are so many trails to enjoy, give rock climbing a go, or spend time with your family soaking in the views and seeing all the cute baby deer running around.

This family portrait session at Garden of the Gods in summer was with the team at Urban Rubbish, an incredible florist team based in Texas! They took their RV for a two-week road trip through Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana with their families. While they passed through Colorado, we photographed an after-session with a couple in which they created an incredible foraged bouquet. Then, I got the pleasure of photographing their sweet family exploring the Garden of the Gods! The little ones were dancing around the trails, squeezing their families into giant hug circles, and catching grasshoppers in the tall grass.

The reason why I love photographing families and couples at Garden of the Gods is that there is a never-ending opportunity for exploration. You can choose what you want to see - a panorama of the rock formation with Pikes Peak lurking in the background to standing in a cave between the sandstone rocks - it is endlessly beautiful.
