Christmas Inspired Wedding // Chapel at Ana Villa
This day was incredible.
It was a chilly day with wind chills of 8 degrees in Dallas, Texas at the Chapel at Ana Villa for Kaitlyn and Ty's wedding, but I walked in to see Kaitlyn and she was so incredibly peaceful. Ty and Kaitlyn were so welcoming and caring, and they even invited my sister (who was in town for an interview) to their rehearsal having never met her before! Talk about people who reflect Jesus' loving spirit.
Ty and Kaitlyn had friends and family put so much love and talent into the wedding, and they clearly had purpose to everything - from her grandpa officiating the wedding and his mentor sharing the Gospel during communion, to all the little details and the big picture. Also, I love the bridal suite - look at all that soft light coming in and those pretty lounge chairs. It felt so classy, which made me feel pretty good about taking endless portraits of Kaitlyn. She's a beauty!
On a personal note, this was my first wedding to shoot as the lead photographer, and I was very excited and nervous. Ty asked me to photograph their wedding about 8 months before, and I had only photographed day-to-day life. I was shocked at their faith in me, but I dedicated many hours to learning the craft in order to do justice to their amazing day. I am beyond thankful that God gave me His vision through my lens to capture their covenant with Him. What an honor that I will hold with awe and gratitude.
