Sapphire Point Summer Wedding in Breckenridge, CO

This VRBO wedding in Breckenridge, CO was the most chill and relaxed wedding day we have ever experienced. Haden and Matt are the kind of couple you want to be around all the time - they are loving, encouraging, and hilarious together. On their wedding morning, they were so calm and stress-free. I think when a wedding is very small (they had 35 people) and it is also a destination wedding, people are naturally more at ease, but I think their incredibly loving and supportive families and friends helped with that. Everyone participated in cooking lunch and hand-churned ice cream (so yummy from what I heard - I’m lactose-intolerant!) but even coordinating, decoration, doing H&MU —> every single person had a beautiful role to play for their first day of marriage, and it made every detail that much more intentional and impactful.

I loved that they chose a VRBO wedding to not only cut costs on a traditional venue (and use that towards their two week Santorini honeymoon!) but also double as venue + accommodation. Everyone participated in cooking lunch and hand-churned ice cream (so yummy from what I heard - I’m lactose-intolerant!) Not only that, but Haden and Matt were so thoughtful in their choices. For example, Haden bought a new dress, but the lace sleeves were a part of a wedding dress that had been worn by 5 generations of women in her family - talk about heirloom wedding dress!

We drove to Sapphire Point Overlook, which has the most beautiful overview of Breckenridge and the Rocky Mountains. It was breathtaking, quiet, and a perfect 75 degrees. The walk from the parking lot to the location took about 2 minutes, but the whole trail can take about 10-20 minutes if you wanted a sweeping mountain range views. There is a $200 permit required to reserve the ceremony outlook for this incredible place to say “I Do!” but wow - it is worth it! I highly recommend Sapphire Point to anyone wanting to enjoy the beauty of Colorado with the convenience of a clean and accessible location with not a lot of people.

Haden & Matt have kind spirits, intelligent perspectives, and honesty + integrity in everything they do. We enjoyed spending their first day of marriage with them, and are thrilled to share their wedding with you! Also, don’t forget to check out their wedding printed in the Rocky Mountain Brides magazine Spring 2020 issue! (The Rocky Mountain Bride magazine is also an incredible magazine to get a lot of gorgeous wedding inspiration for all you engagement people!)

Cheers to them and to hopefully many more intimate weddings in the mountains!
